Kitchen and Bath Design Assistant at Goodro Lumber Kitchen, Bath & Flooring Center

We are seeking an energetic and self-motivated Kitchen and Bath Design Assistant to join our tight-knit team. As a Kitchen and Bath Design Assistant, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, supporting the design of functional and beautiful kitchens and bathrooms, and supporting our team’s project execution. This position does not require design experience or background – you will receive on-the-job training on the software, systems, and products. A willingness and desire to learn is mandatory, as is customer-orientation, communications skills, and strong teamwork.

Kitchen and Bath Design Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Communicate professionally and courteously with prospective and current clients by phone, email, and in-person. Bring an empathetic and competent style to first and last impressions of Goodro Lumber throughout all customer interactions.
  • Listen to customers to understand their requirements, preferences, and budget for their kitchen/bath projects.
  • Learn and develop skills in project scoping, site measurement, and project design, including the use of specialized software tools
  • Design functional and beautiful interior spaces, balancing factors such as customer preferences, space utilization, budget, and design trends.
  • Prepare project estimates, including pricing, materials, and installation costs.
  • Communicate design concepts to clients and make necessary revisions based on their feedback.
  • Build and maintain a strong knowledge of industry trends, including design trends, new materials, and supplier and product catalogue dynamics.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through proactive and empathetic communications; resolve any concerns or issues throughout the design and installation process.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients, teammates, and suppliers.
  • Demonstrated customer-service skills and customer-first mindset.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Willingness to travel to off-site customer job locations to take measurements and understand jobsite constraints
  • Strong proficiency with MS Office Suite and fluency in standard software systems.
  • Willingness and ability to learn:
    • Kitchen & Bath design principles and project management
    • Design software (eg Design 2020) and product catalog integrations
  • Creative mindset with a passion for staying updated on design trends and innovations.
  • Ability to both work independently and collaborate in a team environment.

Work Schedule & Location:

  • This is a Full-Time position, either Monday-Friday or Tuesday-Saturday
  • This is a primarily In-Person position (Middlebury, VT - 05753)
  • Flexible scheduling options may be available on agreement between Goodro and candidate
