Kitchen and Bath Designer at Goodro Lumber Kitchen, Bath & Flooring Center
We are seeking an energetic and self-motivated Kitchen and Bath Designer to join our tight-knit team. As a Kitchen and Bath Designer, you will be responsible for designing functional and beautiful interior spaces, providing exceptional customer service, and ensuring successful project outcomes for our customers and our company. You will apply your experience and training in interior design, project management, and communications to transform customers’ dreams into reality. Kitchen and Bath Designer Responsibilities:
- Apply your skills and expertise in kitchen/bath design to create functional and beautiful kitchens, bathrooms and interior spaces, balancing factors such as customer preferences, space utilization, budget, and design trends.
- Communicate professionally and courteously with prospective and current clients. Bring an empathetic and competent style to first and last impressions of Goodro Lumber throughout all customer interactions.
- Listen to clients to understand their requirements, preferences, and budget for their kitchen/bath projects.
- Educate clients and provide detailed information about various kitchen/bath products, including materials, appliances, fixtures, and accessories.
- Communicate design concepts to clients and make necessary revisions based on their feedback.
- Prepare accurate and descriptive project estimates, including pricing, materials, and installation costs.
- Collaborate with your colleagues on the Kitchen/Bath team and other Goodro departments build a robust sales pipeline and deliver seamless execution of projects.
- Build and maintain a strong knowledge of industry trends, including design trends, new materials, and supplier and product catalogue dynamics.
- Ensure customer satisfaction through proactive and empathetic communications; resolve any concerns or issues throughout the design and installation process.
Qualifications:
- Experience in interior design, architecture, or kitchen sales and design, preferably in a retail or showroom setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients, teammates, and suppliers.
- Proficiency in interior design software (e.g., AutoCAD, 2020 Design).
- Knowledge of kitchen materials, cabinetry, appliances, fixtures, and accessories.
- Demonstrated customer-service skills and customer-first mindset.
- Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and time management skills.
- Willingness to travel to off-site customer job locations to take measurements and understand jobsite constraints
- Creative mindset with a passion for staying updated on design trends and innovations.
- Ability to both work independently and collaborate in a team environment.
- A degree or certification in interior design, architecture, or a related field is a plus.
Work Schedule & Location:
- This is a Full-Time position, either Monday-Friday or Tuesday-Saturday
- This is a primarily In-Person position (Middlebury, VT - 05753)
- Flexible scheduling options may be available on agreement between Goodro and candidate
